Pick your dates and room on the stay's page. The owner's phone and WhatsApp come straight up, with your message ready to send.
Agree dates and the rate with them. Above Bairagarh the signal comes and goes, so sort it out before you leave.

Usually in June or early July, once the snow is cleared, until about 15 October, when the Chamba district administration closes it. In 2026 it opened unusually early, in late April, for light vehicles.
Bairagarh, about 90 km from Chamba and 30 km below the top. It's the last village before the climb. Sleep there and leave at first light.
About 120 km, through Tissa and Bairagarh. Killar, on the far side, is about 166 km from Chamba.

Not as an Indian traveller, as of October 2026. Foreign nationals should check the current rules before they travel.
Patchy to none above Bairagarh. Get your stay confirmed and tell someone your route before you start the climb.
We run Hotel Diwan Sachpass in Bairagarh and take guests over this pass every season. Travellers kept asking us where else to sleep: a homestay in Tissa, a camp near Satrundi, rooms above a dhaba in Killar. Most of those places aren't online, so we started writing them down.
